NATIONAL COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER WEEK EVENTS A HUGE SUCCESS

 

On Friday, August 25th RMCL sponsored a 4 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Area businesses participating in the run/walk included: RMCL, Harrington Family Health Center, St. Croix Regional Health Center, Maine Primary Care Association, East Grand Health Center, Calais Regional Hospital, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, Machias Savings Bank, Roosevelt International Park, and Healthy Acadia.

 

Following the Fun Run/Walk, a Community BBQ was held at RMCL. Everyone enjoyed music provided by Shannon Denbow. Dr. MacKay and Beth Pinkham, PA-C held a Teddy Bear/Doll dental and medical check ups. Children were entertained by Bobby Case and his balloon art and face painting by Nicole Moores and Sheri Valley. Informational tables included: Sliding Fee Discount Program, Blood Pressure and BMI Screening, Outreach/Enrollment, Free Tick Removers, Fitness Port Raffle, Healthy Acadia, Downeast Sexual Assault, and Substance Use Disorder Awareness. Medical suppliers Henry Schein and McKesson Laboratories generously donated personal care items for free distribution. Local area representatives – Rep. Will Tuell, Rep. Joyce Maker and Senator David Burns were on hand to meet and greet community members.
